Pina Colada Cupcakes

So, I was reading this great thread on cakecentral.com and found this lady that did these cupcakes...so I decided that is what I am bringing to our Pool Party for tomorrow. I would show you a picture, but dh (not dear at the moment) took my camera and I don't have a clue as to what he did with it, so...I would imagine that there are wonderful pictures of fish on it...ewwww.

Anyhow...........description:
Its like a parfait, the bottom of a plastic cup has buttercream mixed with crushed pineapple, then regular buttercream, then take a cupcake, cut it in half, put the bottom on top of the buttercream, fill it with pineapple buttercream, put on the top half and then pipe regular buttercream on top and place a cherry in the middle. I would put some of those "cheesey" umbrella things, but you cannot buy those things where I live, imagine that! So, If I ever get my camera back I will post a picture and I do have to say, they are mighty good!

Flat Topsy Turvy Cake

So, its like 96 degrees at my house and I have these two cakes to do....I am amazed how well they came out despite the heat! I've been wanting to play the chocolate Drizzle for sometime now and glad that I had the opportunity to do it!

Mater from Cars

Mater

I did this cake for my nephew, but I had to miss his party :(

Oh well, he likes Mater and the guys from the movie Cars, hope he enjoyed! Happy Birthday Dylon!

Today I am working on a 25th anniversary cake for my friends mom and step dad. Its a flat topsy turvy. I did the bows and have them drying, a few whimsy roses and some curly cues. They should be dry by Thursday:)

A day to relax!

I didn't have any cakes today and didn't know what to do with myself! So, I made buttercream roses today, but in a totally different way. I was inspired by this video on youtube.

(sorry, I don't know how to make it work!)

It is so much easier than using a flower nail.

I made pink, pink with a little white, then white with a little pink. These would look great cascading down the cake...I always hated doing them on a flower nail, but I believe they came out great!
